What are some of the problems with the Asycuda World?

The Asycuda has three major problems among others.

Users are required to upload their shipping documents individually, and only PDF format is accepted. eCommerce shipping invoices may be in JPG, PNG, XLSX, or DOCX formats. These documents must be printed, scanned, converted to PDF, and uploaded. The minimum documentation needed for clearance is 2 to 3 documents, which may include an invoice, waybill, and certificate of origin where applicable.  Additionally, each document necessitates manual data entry of supplier details for every scanned document, including the international customs document code, supplier name, supplier address, and supplier country. The process takes approximately 9 minutes per package. Consider the amount of work involved in managing this for around 1,000 packages daily.

Operators of customs warehouses are required to submit monthly reports detailing their stock balances and sales. Currently, there are no tools available for them to independently verify these figures for self-checking, accounting, or auditing purposes. During official audits, customs authorities rely solely on the operators’ reports, as they cannot access these figures directly. If the reported balances are found to be inaccurate, it is considered non-compliance, which may lead to fines and the potential loss of customs warehouse licenses.

External users cannot submit or check job status directly. These actions must be performed manually through a login portal.

What is involved in setting up the Asycuda World Desktop System (AWD) software system?

We collaborate with your organization’s team to elicit, analyze, and investigate in order to develop the system requirements. Following this, we present a systems audit and feasibility report. This report includes both positive and negative findings about your systems, our best recommendations, project implementation costs, special customization costs, project timelines, a Gantt chart, proposed training and documentation, the number of workstations required, specific workstation needs, point of sale requirements, network specifications, the proposed implementation method, post-implementation audit details, and follow-up plans. The software facilitates the inventory management of customs-controlled items and automatically generates customs entries for all types of imports and exports. Essential for operating customs warehouses, the software tracks stock movement using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method and provides continuous notifications about expired stock through online, mobile, and printed reports.

What are some of the legal requirements for operating a customs controlled warehouse?

.You are allowed to warehouse cars, excise items, jewelry, watches, and similar products without paying taxes upfront. To maintain your license, you must sell over 60% of your allowable tax-free items. Taxes must be paid on sales made to local customers and non-taxable establishments.

Items can be stored for either 365 or 730 days. If the items exceed the registered storage period, you will not be allowed to access them. You must pay the full taxes on these items or export them afterward. Additionally, you are required to file copies of the tax-free sales forms given to tourists at the relevant port of departure.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in fines, locking of your warehouse, permanent loss of your license, or legal action against you.
